ÌÒÑÕÃÛÉ«

After-School Program

Each year, ÌÒÑÕÃÛÉ« offers the After-School Program from dismissal until 5:45 p.m.

For this upcoming school year, the program will be offered to a limited number of students for those families needing after-school care.

There are several different options depending on your needs.
The first option is the Extended Day Program, which runs from dismissal until 5:45 p.m. and includes a snack, homework supervision, followed by free-time. You can choose any days of the week for your son to attend this option.

The second option is the Grade 1-6 Homework Supervision Program. This will run from dismissal until 4:45 p.m. each day. During this period, French and English educators will assist the students in completing their homework. Please note that this is not a “remedial” or “tutorial” program. It is a supervised setting for homework completion. Each student will receive a snack and will be expected to remain in the classroom for the entire homework hour.

If your son is in Kindergarten, there is the Kindergarten Club. This will run from dismissal until 4:45 p.m. each day. During this period, your child will participate in various organized activities by our after-school program educators. In addition, each student will receive a snack.

The third option is the Elementary Extracurricular Activities Program. Each day a specific club will be offered with age-appropriate activities. The clubs will run from dismissal until 4:45 p.m. and a snack is included for each student. These clubs are automatically included in the “Extended Day” registration, but parents also have the option to register their son in only the club(s) which is/are of interest to them. It should be noted that the club list is released later than the aforementioned option. The fall extracurricular program is released by the end of September. The winter/spring extracurricular program is released by the end of January.

The final option is an Occasional Drop-In Program. In the event that a student cannot be picked up at the regular dismissal time, he can attend the After-School Program for just that one day. Your son would receive a snack just as in the other options, and then proceed to the homework supervision program. He can be picked up any time before 4:45 p.m. (for the Occasional Half-Day Option) or up until 5:45 p.m. (in the case of the Occasional Full-Day Option). In order to register your son for this option on a given day, simply inform the ASP Coordinator Ms.Isabella Poliziani by email at asp@selwyn.ca, Ms. Marlita Manal at manalm@selwyn.ca, as well as his teacher.
